RightSite is pleased to invite all members of the industrial property community to attend the fifth Industrial Asset Management Forum on Wednesday, November 25th at the Westin Hotel in Shanghai. This month's event will feature a short presentation titled China REIT Development, by Mr Gary Chan, a partner in PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Mr Chan will be sharing insights from his more than 20 years of transaction experience in China and extensive experience with REITs.

 

Insight into the Development of REITs in China

 

Mr Chan's presentation will reveal his insights into the development of real estate investment trusts (REIT) in China, as well as sharing his perspective on current progress towards establishing REITs in Shanghai. The program covers the highlights of the current public discussion regarding the development of these financial vehicles locally, including Mr Chan's views on the current issues remaining before REITs can be established in mainland China.

 

About Gary Chan and PriceWaterhouse Coopers

 

Gary is the partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Shanghai specialising in M&A tax and relevant tax structuring of different kinds of transactions. He is also the leader in the Real Estate and Investment Management in the Tax Services in Shanghai.

 

With nearly two-decades of professional experience in mainland China, he has witnessed and participated in the development of the China M&A markets. Beyond his knowledge of M&A, Gary has comprehensive experience with China’s tax environment and government policies related to transactions. From this experience he has built a first-hand grasp of tax due diligence and transaction structuring. Gary obtained his Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and has an EMBA from Peking University. He has been awarded the Elijah Watt Sells certificate with high distinction from the AICPA for his performance on the Uniform CPA examination, and is a member of the AICPA.
