Description:

Shanghai International Medical Zone, which has a planned area of 13.2 square kilometers, focuses on medical treatment, research and development (R&D), education, training and medical equipment manufacturing. The zone was approved by the Ministry of Health and will be completed by 2015.

The medical zone will set up six themed sub-zones in 2015 -- an international medical treatment area, international medical rehabilitation center, international medical studies exchange center, medical education and training zone, clinical studies area and a medical R&D and manufacturing zone. The park will also take advantage of the established pharmaceutical base to introduce cutting-edge medical projects and carry out clinical studies.
